The Kentucky State Legislature amended KRS 75.450 to allowed County Fiscal Courts to have an ordinance to include membership charges or subscriber fees on the county tax bills.

Trigg County Fiscal Court took advantage of this law and passed an ordinance in December 2002. This ordinance applies only to property owners located outside of the Cadiz city limits. Fire protection for Cadiz residences and businesses is already included as part of the city tax bills

A fee of $30.00 will be added to the property tax bill of every property owner per fire department district. No property owner will pay no more than one (1) fee per fire district.

A fee of $55.00 will be added to the property tax bill of each business owner per fire district. No business will pay more than one (1) fee per fire district.

The $55.00 fee per fire district paid by business owners will also include residential property that is located in the same fire district.
